CLEVELAND, OH - John "Jack" David Clevinger, 69, passed away on May 15, 2024, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born on January 10, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio.

John spent decades working for the City of Shaker Heights before his retirement.

In his free time, John enjoyed working on cars, riding his motorcycle, and being outdoors. He cherished these moments and found great happiness in his hobbies. His 1965 Pontiac GTO was one of his prized possessions, and he often referred to himself as a "Pontiac Man." John was a great animal lover and had many pets that he lovingly tended over the years.

John is survived by his daughter, Heidi Clevinger, his brother Gary Clevinger, his nieces Kara Vidmar (née Clevinger) and Cathy Zegarac (née Clevinger), his nephew Eric Clevinger, his cousin Debbie Cooper, and other relatives. He is a beloved father figure to Amanda Lubahn, Scot Ribar, and Aleigha McDonald. He is preceded in death by his father Denver Clevinger and his mother Pauline Clevinger (née Haley).

An internment of John's ashes is planned for Saturday, June 1 at 2pm. He will be laid to rest with his father at West Park Cemetery in Cleveland. A private celebration of life is planned for this summer.

John will be remembered for his love for his family, his willingness to help those in need, and his passion for his hobbies. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

May he rest in peace.

In a world where people give up on others, John was always there for people that showed up. He became part of the family. And he made it better.

His wit and sarcasm will be sorely missed.

We don´t need to strive to be perfect men and women, just better than the previous day.

Love you John. Rest in peace, or at least going fast on the steel rocket of your choice. I´m proud to have called you a friend and to have had your influence in my life.
