Dear Jennifer: I was so sorry to hear today of John's passing. I was one of his professors while he was doing grad work at OU, and I remember both his seriousness of purpose and his readiness to find joy and laughter in his activities. You and your family will be in my prayers through this holiday season. May you have peace and comfort.

Just learning about John´s passing from Prayers of the People online from St Paul´s Cathedral today, third Sunday in Advent. What a shock!
He was a wonderful member of our graduate student colloquium in Educational Studies at OU.... bright, engaging, full of heart, sharing his life story with so much hope for the next generation. I last saw him with Boy Scouts at St John´s a few years ago-a great delight to see him again!
May Light perpetual shine upon John. Peace and comfort to all his beloved through this first holidays season with so many memories of him in your hearts.

I am so shocked and sad. I am so very sorry for your loss. I was an older student with a lot of fear and insecurities about returning to school. I would have certainly quit if not for the class I took under professor Dell. I did graduate and I owe a lot to John Dell. He will be greatly missed by all.
