John J DeMartino

John J DeMartino, 85, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, in Naples, FL. Born on July 1, 1939, John's life was one of joyful engagement. He was known for being the life of the party and he lived life to the fullest every day. He had a deep love for his family and was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren.

John was the beloved husband of Maureen (Sunny) DeMartino of Naples, FL. He was a devoted father to Diana and her husband Robert O'Leary of Wethersfield, CT, John DeMartino of Rocky Hill, CT, and Ron and his wife Isabel DeMartino of East Hampton, CT. He was a cherished grandfather to Megan, Michael, Nicole, Jenna, Olivia, Ava, and Julian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and John DeMartino, his sister, Gloria Venezia, and brother-in-law, Mitch Venezia.

He was a graduate of St. John's University, which laid the foundation for his successful professional journey. John had a distinguished career and retired as the CEO of Thyssen Krupp Elevator North America. An avid golfer, John spent many happy hours on the greens of Wethersfield Country Club and The Club at Old Cypress, a hobby that brought him immense joy, relaxation and many dear friends. John never missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Red Sox and St Johns basketball. John will always be remembered for his famous rendition of his favorite song, My Way, which he recently sang for all of us on his 85th birthday. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
