John Duane "JD"



John Duane "JD" Denhart, 63, formerly of Lebanon, died Monday, December 30, 2013, at Summerlin Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. He was born October 9, 1950, in Lebanon, the son of John Thomas and Violet Ragsdale Denhart. He graduated Lebanon High School in 1968, attended Purdue University and graduated from Monroe County Community College in Monroe, MI, where he earned a diploma with academic honors. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He was longtime resident of Ottawa Lake, MI. He retired as a drafter designer at

Applied Technologies Inc. in Toledo, Ohio and worked as a tractor-trailer driver and at Dow Chemical in Indiana for many years, before earning his college degree as an adult learner. He was a softball, basketball and baseball coach, and volunteered teaching children how to use computers for many years. He enjoyed buying antiques, collecting sports trading cards, watching John Wayne movies, reading Louis L'Amour books, attending hot rod shows, farming, reminiscing about raising swine as a young man, traveling and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Corinna Kittle Denhart; two daughters, Jennifer Baldwin-Wells of Commiskey and Sara Denhart of Scottsburg; two sons, John Lucas Denhart of Clarksville, TN, and Samuel Denhart of Ottawa Lake, MI; mother, Violet Denhart Sanders of Ottawa Lake, MI; one brother, Dennis Denhart of Dundee, MI; one sister, Doreen Meisner, of Toledo, Ohio; several grandchildren; and many nieces and

nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Denhart, who died in 1999.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held in April to celebrate JD's life.
