JOHN DIGBY Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 1, 2013.
DIGBY JOHN DAVID
On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at age 45. Beloved husband of Wendy (Solman); and dearest father of their three young children, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Rebecca; loving son of Anna Elizabeth "Betty" and the late David Lee Digby; dear brother of Dr. Lynn (Timothy) Baxter; uncle of Andrew and Elizabeth Baxter; nephew of Marna (the late Edward) Bodnar, the late Glenn (Koula) Digby, J. Wayne (Lorraine) Digby, Benjamin Robertson, and James (Judy) Robertson. David was also blessed with many cousins and dear friends who provided much support during his recent illness. During his youth, David was active in Upper St. Clair Boy Scout Troop 366, earning the Eagle Scout Award by providing music for all services during 1985-86 for the Sycamore Street Methodist Church in Mt. Washington. David was a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School (1986), where he was trombone section leader in the Marching Band and a tenor in the various choirs, District and PMEA Music Festivals. He was also a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University (1990), which he attended on a partial music merit scholarship and where he was an active and loyal member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. After college, David was employed for 20 years as a professional with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. David was a lifelong lover of music as well as a talented musician whose performances always delighted family and friends. He faced his final illness with incredible optimism and used his remaining time well, connecting as often as he could with his close friends and family. David's family will receive visitors on Monday, December 2, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 8440 Main Street in Clarence, NY, where a Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 9535 Clarence Center Road.
