John Digges Obituary
Born on January 7, 1970, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of Patricia C. Collison and John H.Digges ,Sr.
He graduated Walkersville High School in 1988, where he was a member of the Basketball Team and a 1987 State Champion Varsity Football player.
He was employed by Verizon as a Cable Splicer for over 20 years and was a proud member of Local 2108
John was an amazing Husband, Son, Father and Uncle, he was role model and loyal friend to many who knew him. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Maryland Basketball.
John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerard Gulden and Eileen Gulden (Grandma) and special cousin, Whitney Brooks.
He is survived by wife, Kimberly K. Digges, mother, Patricia C. Collison, father, John Harvey Digges, Sr.( Sharon) daughters, Caitlin Digges, Carolyn Williford (Jeff); sons, Joseph Downs & Perry Downs; sister, Heather O'Brien (Mike); nephews, Michael, Tyler and Brady O'Brien; uncles, Gerard Gulden and Glenn Gulden( Patti) aunt, Laurie Gillespie, her son, Greg Brooks; best Friend, Tony Gillespie. He is also survived by many cousins, family members, and friends , including his lifetime friend, J.T. Thomas.
The family will receive friends on Saturday,February 11, 2017 from 3:00-5:00pm at Stauffer Funeral Home,1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick MD. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 5:00pm, in the funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers,the family asked that you perform a random act of kindness in John's memory.

Although I had not seen John in years alot of childhood memories came back when I learned of his passing. He was a great friend to awkward kid. He was always someone I admired and looked to emulate, whether it was wearing knee pads playing basketball in middle school, or listening to Michaal Jackson music on the boom box at the pool.
My most heart felt condolences go out to his family and friends. I know he we will be greatly missed, but so many will remember him fondly.

My thoughts and prayers are with Digges and his family. I'm saddened shocked at the unexpected loss.
I remember the great times in High School and the semester at Northern Arizona University together.

I went to HS with John and we would run into each other every few years. He would always have that big smile. He will be remembered for that and for having a heart of gold. What you saw was what you got and that was the best part of him.

I am shocked and saddened by John's passing at such a young age. I remember John as a good friend to my son Corey Boswell while they attended Walkersville High School together. My prayers are with John's wife and all of his family.
