John Dippolito

Fishkill - John Dippolito, a Fishkill resident since 1986 and formerly of Yonkers, died at home on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was 89.

Son of the late Anthony and Cristina (Simonetti) Dippolito, he was born in Italy on August 12, 1926. A few years later, his family emigrated to the United States and settled in the New York area.

In 1944, he was inducted into the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

John retired following a long career in the fruit & produce industry. Self-employed, he owned and operated a business in Harrison. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Curreri) Dippolito, at home in Fishkill; son, Anthony Dippolito of Hopewell Junction; daughter, Cristine LoGiudice-Wright & her husband Robert of Fishkill; daughter, Debra Hegedus & her husband Robert of Wappingers Falls; grandchildren, John Dippolito, Anthony Dippolito & his wife Jennifer, Michael Dippolito, Heather Dippolito, Christopher LoGiudice, Tiffany LoGiudice, Anthony Bisogne, Eddie Ritter, and Rebecca Ritter; great-grandsons, Ethan and Kolby; sister, Louise Salerno & her husband James of Fishkill; and brother, Angelo Dippolito of Jefferson Valley; also many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 14 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Entombment will follow in the community mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. The U.S. Navy will conduct Military Honors.
