JOHN DOERR Obituary
JOHN WAYNE DOERR
John married Bonnie Riggs Doerr on May 6, 1961 and they celebrated 51 years of marriage. John worked for DuPont for 17 years then became self employed with Doerr's Service Center and Exxon Station offering auto repairs and later sales and service for golf carts and clubs until his forced retirement due to health issues. He underwent a lung transplant on February 11, 2003 and acqured a new lease on life. He then opened P & D "Piddle and Diddle" Machine Works.
John is survived by his wife, Bonnie Doerr; daughters, Melissa (David) Koehne, Jonnett Coldwey; son, Russell (Karla) Doerr; sister, Jackie (Leonard) Marek; brother, Joe (Janell) Jackson; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-father A. T. Jackson.
The family will receive friends at the First Methodist Church in Goliad from 5:30 -6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012. A Memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m.. at the church on W. Pearl Street with Rev. Sharon Stewart officiating.
In lieu of floral donations the family wishes donations be made to the Goliad Senior Citizens Building Fund in John's name.

John was a family friend for 50 years. He gave me my first job at his service station when I was 13 years old. His memory will live on with the Bochat Family. God Bless the Doerr Family.

John Wayne was a high school classmate, and although we weren't close friends, I knew him to be a good person and respected by all.

I met John during my employ as a Deputy Sheriff for Goliad County. John was always full of life's energy and never said a bad word about anyone. He always had comical stories to tell. He was a good man. My sympathies to his family.
