My deepest sympathy to the entire Donofrio family. Mr. Donofrio was my art teacher at HarborCreek. I was always happy to get to his class. I was not a talented artist but that did not matter to him. He found a way to make you feel special and talented in your own right even if you could not draw a straight line with a ruler. His smile lit up the room and his booming voice on "cranky" days could be heard all the way down the hall. He was and will always be one of my favorite teachers and his memory and the lessons he taught us all will never be forgotten.

Annemarie, Mrs. Donofrio, Andrew and Abigale~
Josh and I send you love and prayers during your time of grief. I am sorry we missed the viewing and funeral. Your husband, father and grand-father was a very kind gentleman and has fought the hard battles for his last years. He was a fighter and even tho~ he was in the hospital, he always managed to smile and let me know he knew who I was during my residency at Hamot. He had a special sparkle in his eye whenever I mentioned any of you to him. Take comfort in knowing that God has certainly welcomed him to heaven with open arms and he's with Tim keeping an eye on all of you!
Love and prayers, if you need anything, please let us know.

Our deepest sympathy to Johns family on his passing. Anyone who came into John's presence most surely was greeted with a huge warm smile punctuated by those characteristic dimples on his cheeks. We remember John in all his humor and friendliness and most always in the company of his dear friend Carl Dalporto who he now joins in Heaven.

We pray that you, his family, find solace in all the fondest of memories of such an inspirational person as is evident from reading the Guest Book Entries from his students, colleagues, and friends. We are all richer in having had John as a friend.

Special condolences to brother Joe.

My condolences to Mr. Donofrio's family. I am a '87 grad of Harborcreek and had Mr. Donofrio for art in seventh and eighth grade. He is a very special teacher for all of us. He treated everyone with a kind heart. He didn't care if you weren't an artist, just that you tried your best. I do remember very clearly how making rubber cement balls could make him a little upset though.

Therese, Annemarie and Susan...you have my deepest sympathy on the death of John. I think the last contact I had with him was during one of my rounds distributing Holy Communion at St Vincents. He was not on the list to receive but I went in anyway just to say hello. He was not too aware of who I was but as I was leaving he said "I want one of those."

I checked with the nurse and she said it was OK for him to receive.

His love for the Eucharist came thru even though he wasn'r sure who I was.

I had him as my art teacher all throughout school, but it wasn't until my senior year, 1978, that he inspired me to go to college and try my hand at advertising. Uncle John was one of my most favorite person to be around. Throughout my life, he showed interest in all my endeavors and would always inquired how he could help. I will be forever grateful for his support. I have many fond memories of Uncle John because he was such a fun person to be around. He was sure to liven the conversation in any group of people that he joined. His stories and laughter were sure to entertain all . Most importantly, I will remember him as a man who had all his priorirties straight and that he lived his life accordingly. He will be sadly missed.
