John Calhoun Eagar, Jr. of Dunwoody, GA passed away on April 2, 2018.

John was born in Chattanooga, TN on April 4, 1958 to John Calhoun Eagar, Sr. and Ann Arcady Eagar. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Chattanooga, and Georgia Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1981.

He worked as a Mechanical and Fire Protection Engineer in Atlanta, North Carolina, and Florida. He spent the last 12 years of his career with Syska Hennessy Group in Atlanta.

He was active at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody where he served as an elder and session member. He was an active member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.

He was a dedicated husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Pamela Eagar, daughter Laura Eagar, stepdaughter, Julie Postma, and sisters, Catherine Robbins of Signal Mountain, TN, Betsy Eagar of Mobile, AL, and Susan Evans of Charlotte, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11am. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 4pm. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd, Brookhaven, GA 30319.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or the Alzheimer's Association.
