John F. Moseley (known as Fred to his family) passed away on January 15, 2023. He was 5 months shy of his 100th birthday. Fred was born in Palestine, Texas on June 19, 1923. He was the youngest of his 8 siblings. He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps (later known as the US Air Force) in 1941 and retired in 1962 at the rank of Master Sergeant. During this time, he served in both WWII and Korea. He was a mechanic and engineer on some of the most prominent aircraft at the time. Fred also flew as a flight engineer on the C-54 and flew 104 missions in Germany in the 1948-1949 Berlin airlift. After retirement from the military, Fred and his family moved to Bradenton, Florida. Fred met his wife, Lillian, while serving in the military with some of her brothers and they were married in 1950. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lillian A. Moseley, of Bradenton, Florida, his son, Randall N. Moseley, of Ft. Pierce, Florida, his daughter, Renea M. Glendinning, of Sarasota, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. His daughter, Freddie Jean LaRue, predeceased him. No services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be held to commemorate his 100th birthday.
