John Feehan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 4, 2022.
June 8, 1932 - September 21, 2022 Jack was born on June 8, 1932, in The Bronx, New York to Christine Dunne Feehan and John Vincent Feehan, both from Ireland. After high school, Jack joined the Navy. He was a Sergeant in the New York City Police Department and retired early in 1972. He and his wife, Marie Hopkins Feehan, moved their first 3 children across the country to live in Mission Viejo, CA. That 6-week road trip to see all parts of the country was a source of many fond memories. The Feehans became partners in 2 Hallmark stores, but Jack eventually returned to law enforcement at the Orange County Airport, the Orange County Coroner's office, and finished his career in 1998 with the Orange County District Attorney's office as a welfare fraud investigator. He and Marie separated in 1986 and he lived in Laguna Woods for many years where he enjoyed playing golf. Jack died on September 21, 2022, in Chino Hills, CA at the age of 90. He leaves behind children Marie Simmons, John Feehan Jr., Ken Feehan (Paula), and Jennifer Feehan; as well as grandchildren Michael Feehan, Blair Feehan, Molly Feehan, Kyle Simmons, and Cory Simmons. Jack was cremated and his ashes scattered at sea. Jack was a proud American and will be remembered with a smile whenever his children retell the story about how he met his wife.
