Travel companion and dear friend for many years. Loving and generous to all he met. In my heart forever.

I loved John's warm smile and the fun I had trying to understand him through his accent. He was always smiling, full of stories and kind. I'm thankful for the years of happiness and adventure that he shared with my aunt and that she brought him into all of our lives. He will be greatly missed.

I worked for John for a few years as a young printer in the 1970's. He willingly passed on his experience of printing trade, which continually helped me in my print career. During the next forty years in print I never met anyone with more knowledge. I loved the stories he told of places he had worked throughout the world and to this day often repeat them. It was a pleasure to know him.

John was a wonderful person, one of my dearest friends. Whenever we got together, discussion turned to music, which was his passion. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.

John was our adopted Uncle, Granddad and friend. My sister, Nancy got to know him on a group travel tour to Australia and New Zealand back in 2006. Since then John has been a fixture in all of our lives as he came to the states on a few trips of his own and visited. He was truly kind and fun to be around. His stories of his work in Africa and his world travels were enthralling. His generosity and kindness were infectious. We will all miss him dearly. Thank you John for the great times we shared.
Love,
Marianne Sowin and family-Steven, Zoey and William

John was a very beloved and dear part of our family for over 20 years. We spent many wonderful times together. John was one of the kindest and most generous people I ever knew.
