Dr. John J. Gattuso, DVM, age 60, of Lebanon, IL born October 10, 1948 in Chicago, IL died on Monday, May 11, 2009 at St. Mary's Health Center, Richmond Heights, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam J. & Anne C., nee Barczuk, Gattuso. He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Anne Gattuso of Lebanon, IL; his dear friend HJ Gattuso of Aviston, IL; his 4 brothers, Sam Gattuso, Mark (Micki) Gattuso, Tom Gattuso, and Michael (Tammy) Gattuso all of the Chicago area; his uncles, Nick (Rose) Gattuso and Edwin (Loraine) Barczuk; his aunt, Betty Haluch; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.kassly funeral.com. Memorials may be made to Illinois Department of Natural Resources or donor's choice. Visitation: Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Lebanon, IL.

John Gattuso was a classmate of mine at St. Patrick HS in Chicago, ILL. He was on the St. Pat's Track Team - The Shamrocks. Dr. Gattuso graduated in 1971 from Loyola University in Chicago IL with high honors. He went on to the U of Illinois to become a Dr. of Veterinary Medicine. The attached photo is John's Senior Portrait from the St. Patrick HS, 1966 Yearbook. This memory was posted on March 7, 2023.
