John W. "Sugar Bear" Gibson Jr.
Memorial services for Mr. John W. Gibson, 60, of Pineville are incomplete at this time under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home Pineville and Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
Johnny was born in Orange, Texas on October 10, 1951 to the union of Rev. John W. and Ela Lenard Gibson and passed from this life on Saturday Morning June 30, 2012 in Kinder, Louisiana after a sudden illnesss.
John was instramental in our funeral business at Griffin funeral Home and Forest Lawn in Pineville and co-founder of Simply Cremations of West Monroe. John was Vice-President of Public Relations for Forest Lawn Funeral Home. We loved John dearly and he adopted us as his family and he will be missed greatly. John was slow to anger and fast to defend the ones he loved, always offering everyone a word of encouragement with his "it will be ok, you can't out give God"
Survived by his feline campion Dutches and adopted family, brother, Mike Clark of Winnsboro, brother and sister, Kenneth Griffin and Glenda Meissner of West Monroe, brother and daughter, Trevis and Michelle Wheeling of West Monroe, sister, Stephanie Hattaway of Choudrant, Lifetime friend Lynn Emerson of Orange, TX; and the staff of Comer Funeral Home; Griffin funeral Home; Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Memorial preferred to any Society for Cats.

Papa John, There are no words to write to let everyone know just how special you was to me. A true friend, that cared enough to let me know when you was concerned, and loving enough to put your arm around me and encourage me.
