Years ago I was ice fishing with John and Billy. I slipped on the ice. Hit my head and was unconscious. Billy ran for help John kept me warm . Eventually, it was determined that I needed to be Life Starred to Hartford Hospital . John and Billy had to shovel a landing spot for the helicopter. I don´t think I would be here without the intervention of John and Billy. Both shook it off as it was nothing great just the right thing to do. A true Grocki response Best to Jean and the Grocki family.

I lifeguarded for John at the Field Club and years later my son and daughter did, too. He was such a presence in our lives every summer. He became a family friend and will be sorely missed. Our Condolences to Jean and the family.

I enjoyed our conversations at AHC where he came to visit his parents for many years. He was very funny and a perfect gentleman.

Mr. Grocki was our PE teacher for the class of 1968 at FHS. Not a mean bone in his body. Always smiling and encouraging us to do better. You will be missed.
THANK YOU!

Very sad news. Mr Grocki was someone who you´d expect to be imparting his knowledge and wisdom to us forever. My condolences to the whole family. Mr G was quite a guy ... he will leave a big space, but many, many good memories as well.
