Travel enthusiast John Charles Hahn, Jr., 81, of Beverly Hills, Michigan, has taken his final voyage, dying at sea on January 30, 2024.

He was born in Marion County, Indiana, on January 11, 1943, to Gwendola (Tomson) and John C. Hahn. On June 24, 1967, he married Patricia Sutton in Indianapolis, IN.

John graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Indianapolis in 1960 and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1965. He was employed by General Motors in Indiana and Michigan from 1965 until his retirement in 2002.

He was a past president of the Central Indiana Society of Plastics Engineers and past Chief of Nations of Anderson, Indiana, YMCA Indian Guides. He used his talent for photography in his volunteer work.

For enjoyment, John played golf and spent time with his family, who survives, including his wife; sons JJ (Luiza Nicolae) Hahn of Victoria, Minnesota, and Jeffrey Hahn of Allen Park, Michigan; grandchildren Mackenzie Hahn of Chicago, IL, and Marcus Hahn of Victoria, Minnesota and a sister Mary Ann Lang (John C.) of St. Louis, Missouri.

Services will be Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 or at www.t2t.org or a patriotic charity.
