John HALLIDAY Obituary
DR. JOHN ALLAN HALLIDAY Peacefully at Charlotte Villa Retirement Lodge Brantford on Wednesday December 9, 2009, at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Doris for over 50 years. Loving father of Deb and her husband Geoff Quadland of St. George and Jody and her husband Neill Shewan of Goodwood. Cherished grandfather of Cameron and Kelly Shewan. John is predeceased by his sister Barbara MacDonald. He was a Canadian Navy Veteran who served in the North Atlantic during the Second World War. John was a prominent ophthalmologist in Brantford for over 45 years. He was an avid skier, boater and spent many happy hours with his family and friends at his cottage in Killarney. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Family and friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 2 pm. A private family interment service will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington. Donations may be made in memory of John to the Parkinson's Foundation. 'He Forged ahead and never gave up.' www.dennistoll.ca
