John Hamilton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 23, 2009.
TEATICKET — John T. Hamilton, of Teaticket, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Oct. 31, 2009, after a short battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.

Jack was born to Madalyn (Hathaway) and Jesse B. Hamilton in Woods Hole, where he was raised. He was predeceased by both of his parents.

He was a master builder and craftsman whose work is featured in several homes and buildings on the Cape. He spent many seasons hunting in the woods of Maine and sailing the waters of the Cape.

Jack was known for his sense of adventure and his sense of humor. He loved fishing, snowmobiling and his motorcycle. But most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Annemieke; children Jennifer D'Andrea and Jonathan Hamilton; grandsons Carter and Tanner D'Andrea of East Falmouth; two sisters, Carol Rafolowski of Maine and Donna Hamilton of Hatchville; a brother, Jeffrey Hamilton of Woods Hole; his former wife, Joyce Thames of Waquoit; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by sister Nancy Robbins.

A celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at his home.
