Hank was smart, sneaky-funny and kind. He was a wonderful man to be around. The world needs more like him. We will miss him.

Dearest Katt and family, I am broken-hearted to learn of Hank's passing. While I did not know him well, he was the type of person who made you feel like you'd been friends forever. Please know Roger and I are thinking of you and holding you in our hearts.

I met Hank when I was just 15 hanging around Thespian Troupe 1515. I wasn't in high school yet. Hank has been family ever since I met him.
I carry with me so many fun high school memories. Most included a group of friends now referred to as The West Party. One fun memory involved my sister and her tiny Spit Fire convertible. It's the middle of winter at night in Arlington. I'm in the passenger seat. Peggy is driving. There isn't a third seat - so top goes down and Hank sits on the back of the car with his legs behind our seats. As we drive around the cold streets, he contemporaneously gives a political speech worthy of FDR. He had us in stitches. I can still see the glint in his eye.
Stay on the Sunnyside, my friend.

Hank and my late husband, Reed, were fast friends. They spent summers together in North Dakota, working on the farm of a family friend.
When we were dating, we would often find the top of Reed's VW camper popped up, and we knew that Hank was close by.
We were so happy when Katt came into Hank's life and we knew that she was the one.
Rest easy old friend, Rest easy.

YTHS Hangover Bowl -
The Hangover Bowls were held on the killing fields of Nottingham Elementary School on New Years Day.
A battle to the death between the wise old men and the young whippersnappers of Yorktown High School.
Legends were made there and those that survived were called heroes.
