John Howard Harris, son of Samuel Joseph Harris & Loretta Scully, was born on March 24, 1953 in Homestead, Florida. John passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in Homestead, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Sam Jr. John was a Homestead native who worked for many years in construction and owned Sam’s Country Kitchen before retiring.
He is survived by his Wife, Lydia Harris, his Sister Sandy with the Jorge Salinas Family, his Aunt and the family of Johnnie Cash of Homestead and his Uncle Bobby and Noretta Harris family of Sebring. He also leaves behind a host of cousins from these families.
The Visitation for John Howard Harris will take place on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 27100 Old Dixie Highway, Naranja, Florida, 33032 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 1pm followed by a burial at the Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery at 2 pm. Burial Services will be conducted by Pastor George of St. John’s Episcopal.
A Memorial Gathering in Celebration of his Life will take place at La Playa at 9698 S.W. 328 Street, Homestead Bayfront Park at 5pm. Family and Friends may join us to remember him at his favorite of places on the waterfront.
