John “Doc” Thomas Harris
John “Doc” Thomas Harris 90, of DeKalb died Friday, February 21, 2020 at his home. He was born June 17, 1929 in Oak Park, IL and was the son of Thomas and Edna (McGuire) Harris.
John served his country in the United States Army. He was a dentist in the DeKalb area for many years retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb.
He is survived by four children: Nancy Harris of Sun City, AZ, Joan Harris of Chicago, Kurt (Lucy Johns) Harris of Chicago and Patricia (John) Dashney of Kirkland, IL. Grandchildren; Emily Harris, Ian Harris, Chanyalew Yemiru and Madeline Dashney. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 10:30am at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb with Father Dean Russell officiating. Burial will be immediately following the Mass at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in DeKalb. Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.
