John Hayes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 25, 2018.
John Steven Hayes,70, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday March 24, 2018, while at home following a combination of heart attack and multiple strokes. "Steven" rested peacefully and passed in his sleep. Steven was attended to during his illness by his two best friends, Dennis Salsbury and David Pringle. The three "compadres" were together for more than 38 years.

Steven was born April 18, 1947 to John Edward Hayes and Elaine Ethel Hill-Hayes at Van Ness Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. Steven attended Colton High School and moved to Las Vegas in 1979. Steven worked as a financial auditor at several major casino resorts in Las Vegas until he retired from the Luxor Hotel and Casino in 2008.

Steven displayed a wonderful knack for solving problems, not only his own, but those of his friends as well. Steven was a very generous and loving person who always brightened your day. Steven truly loved life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, snacking, and spending time with his friends and neighbors. Steven had an uncanny ability to reach out to people in a deep and positive way. Steven is survived by his brother, Timothy; sister Evelyn; and sister-in-law Peggy. Steven also had numerous nieces and nephews including Etta, Kiara, Brianna, Mariah, John, Alyssa, Randy and Samantha. Steven was loved and will deeply missed by all who ever met him. He was the perfect best friend anyone could ever ask for.
