Mr Hayslip was my teacher in the 90s. I loved his class. He was a great man and great teacher.
my thoughts are with his family

I hated his class (Algebra I and Geometry)... Class of 1996... but I was/am terrible at math... But Mr. Hayslip, I adored him ... He really tried so hard to help me and give me opportunities to re-take tests and help me work through homework. I spent many days after school where he spent extra myself and others that needed it.
After my last class, he called me at home during Christmas break to let me know I had passed... Just barely with a 73, but he wanted to let me know as soon as he knew and helped to stiffle my fears.
He was a good man, while he struggled to help me learn math, he taught me to never give up, work hard, and try again ... He really cared about his students. He also greatly displayed the value of patience.
To his family... I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you and I have you all in my prayers... May God wrap you in loving arms and keep you until you are all together again.
