JOHN "HILL, JR., known affectionately as "Moe Gox" and professionally as "Guitar Moe," passed away on February 8, 2024, in San Diego, California, at the age of 72, after a formidable battle with brain cancer - what a warrior! Born February 18, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to John, Sr., & Beverly Hill, John, Jr. was a beloved figure in the music industry and a cherished member of his Loving Family and community.

Moe's educational journey began at DuSable High School, South side, Chicago, Il, and continued to Martin Luther King, Jr. College, both of which laid the foundation for his illustrious career as a captivating musician. Known for his unique blend of Blues and modern music, Moe performed for 45 years across Northern and Downtown Chicago, Southern California, as well as various locations statewide and abroad. Moe's performances were characterized by their ability to honor, shower, and even swoon his audiences, earning him widespread admiration and love.

As such, he enriched his family with that same love and devotion. John's family members include:
Brothers: David Hill and now Patriarch, Joseph Hill, Sr.
Sisters: Sheryl D. Watson, Matriarch and Rebecca Hill (Family Favorite);
Cousins: Toye and Marvin Saverson, Robin Johnson and Derek Johnson, (need babies names)
Carolyn "Sissy" Davenport (need babies names)
Mikki Johnson, daughter Zania Johnson
SONS: Jon Hill, 3rd and Christopher Hill
Nieces: [Jacqueline "JB" Brown] and NeSandra Hill
Nephews: David Hill and Richard Lewis, Michael L. Watson, II; and
Joseph C Hill, Jr[

Two simultaneous Physical and/or Zoom Memorial Services are scheduled to honor Moe's legacy on November ___, 2024

Moe's music and spirit will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him and were touched by his talent and kindness.
