John Hogue Obituary
He was a graduate of Metairie Park Country Day School, where he was offensive tackle for the Varsity football team and received district honors his senior year. He was also a member of the Advanced Chorale and small ensemble chorus. He was a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, and a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, where he served as president of his pledge class.
He was a member of the Rhodes Singers, and studied at St. Johns College, Oxford University, in Oxford, England in the summer of 1999.
He is the son of L. Eades Hogue and Barbara K Hogue of New Orleans. Predeceased by his brother, Lloyd Eades Hogue, Jr., he is survived by his sister, Mary Priestley Frank and her husband, Benjamin B. Frank, Jr., and their daughter, Mary Eades Frank; aunts Ann Roncali, Beverley Miller of Cleveland, Miss.; Debbie Wanko of Mandeville; and numerous cousins.
Services to be held at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until service time. Graveside services will be at North Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Mississippi on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church, 3900 St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, La. in lieu of flowers.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for the profound loss of your beloved John. He was a very special young man whose winning personality and fine character was apparent to all who met him. It was truly our pleasure to get to know John while working with him at Lemle during his summer vacations from school. I am so saddened for you & the loss of your son. I didn't know him, it just breaks my heart to know you have to go through this grief. I lost my son last year and he was only 20. Until then, I couldn't relate and had idea what it was like. Now I do and just want you to know, it is different for us all, but know there are people out here that care even though we didn't know your son personally. I care and am so sorry you have to go through this. I am here even though you don't know me. I will listen and be a shoulder...when you need one! My thoughts are with you at this time.

John was a friend and a teammate during my years at Country Day. He was a genuine person who was always there to listen to a friend and I will miss him very much. He motivated me to be the best I could during my years playing football and was a terrific teammate. The news of his death has saddened me greatly.
