John Dana Huff

Died April 16, 2025 in Ventura California

Dana, to all who knew him, came into this life like a firecracker. Not just because of his flaming red hair but because he burst into it making his arrival known. The youngest of the four children of Ken and Joy Huff he was all energy and light in the family. Dana's formative years were spent in Ventura California and Lexington Oklahoma. He grew up a free range kid in the drink from the garden hose and be home before the street lights came on era. He spent his days riding bikes with his sister or exploring the Channel Islands on the family boat. He moved to Oklahoma and attended high school and college there. Graduating from the University of Science and Art Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology.

After college he returned to California to start his career and family. He married and welcomed two boys whom he adored. Dana loved everything nerdy. He was a rockhound, an expert model builder and could McGyver almost anything. He loved to attend anime and comic conventions with his nephews and was a fervent fan of LA Kings hockey team. He divorced but in his later years found love again and became the father to two more boys. Although his time with them was short he made a lasting impact on their lives. He was so proud of his four sons, they were his world.

Dana was proceeded in death by his parents, Kenneth Huff and Joyce Bebout Murray as well as his brothers David and Michael. He is survived by his four children, Cole Huff of Portland Oregon, Jonas Huff of Ventura, California and Ezekiel and Xavier Huff of Oxnard, California. His sisters, Karen Cottingham of Santa Barbara, California and Ann Kennedy of McLoud Oklahoma as well as numerous nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
