John Wesly Hunt

John Wesly Hunt, 67, passed away on May 23, 2025, in Jackson, Michigan. Born on February 18, 1958, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, John spent his early years in the community where he also attended Ypsilanti Schools.

John was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. A devoted fan of The Beatles, he especially loved the songs "Hey Jude" and "Help," which brought him comfort and happiness throughout his life. His love for music extended to a deep appreciation for old movies and classic television shows. Whether it was watching a favorite film or old shows of Perry Mason and Gun Smoke from decades past. John had an enduring enthusiasm for the golden eras of entertainment.

Watching sports was another passion of John's. He enjoyed following golf, baseball, and basketball. He also had a huge interest in World War II history and enjoyed trivia related to historical events, vintage films, and classic songs.

John's contentment came not from extravagance but from the everyday joys-a good hotdog or hamburger with chips could light up his day. He lived simply and sincerely, embracing the small moments that made life meaningful.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister Debbie Hunt; his brother Billy Hunt (Nancy); his nephew Aaron Hunt; great-nephew Zayden Hunt; and niece Cindy Hunt. John was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Jr. and Eula Hunt, as well as his niece Lisa Hunt.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Jackson County Medical Care Facility for their care and kindness during John's time there. As he often said with affection-"Hey Ma'am"-John loved you all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor John's memory. In Lieu of flowers, contributions in John name, may be made to Autism research of your choice.
