Will always remember how gentle yet firm and kind John was in commanding his audience, typically of school children. One of our treasures is gone, but surely remembered.

To John's friends and family members: John was one of the best artists I've ever worked with and one of the most talented. I was glad to see him break out in Atlanta in 2004 and get his due as a performing and teaching artist. He was a great man. My wife and I, our children and their classmates were blessed by his talent as were many others I feel sure. Rest in peace, great spirit. God's blessings to John's wife Therra. Once we a nice discussion over lunch at a school break and talked about everything under the sun seems like! John told us he'd never been happier than he was with his wife Therra and their pets and their life traveling and being together. His Native American New Mexico heritage was fascinating and he taught us a lot with both his words and his actions. Like i said, a great man! We love you John! Always!

John loved life and was gifted with the ability to help others learn to see life through his eyes. He was a gentle spirit, kind to all. He was a fine example of " Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you." He loved children, adults, and animals and treated every living thing with respect. I was privileged to know and work with John.

John will be missed by so many. As one of the many I am so grateful that I was blessed to have him as a part of my life. Such a generous and joyful spirit, he continues to inspire. He was so respectful and knowledgable of the arts. His joy was especially infectious when teaching and talking about dance. I will treasure every memory of him. Dearest Therra, my love and prayers are with you.

I've had the privilege of knowing John for many years, but from 2011-2013, I had the greater privilege to work with him through the Alliance Theatre and Arts Partners. There is no way to adequately express the joy that John brought to every encounter and to every classroom. Suffice it to say that children and adults loved him because (how could you not?) he loved them and brought joy, freedom, and the beauty that is self-expression through dance. I am grateful to be counted as a friend of John and his beloved wife Therra. I continue to pray for you, Therra and hope you know how admired and beloved you are. I love you both.

Te adoro, Juanito, as all of us artists did, and Therra knows it best. LIfe is better because you were in it. Dance on, dance on, gentle soul. But I cannot leave without a funny story or John. At one YA showcase, I made a comment to John about how all the art moms drooled over him in his Aztec costume and asked if he selected that particular performance because of that event and he said, "Gotta do what sells!" Yes, indeed!

I didn't know him personally but it was enough to see and read his messages trough face to know what kind of person he was. Hoy eyes, more then is eyes, his "looking" was so...beauty!! As if he knew all the secrets of the Universe! Wich I am sure he knew. We lost in general, a dancer, an artist, a creator. Now I am so sure he is on that part of light he felt he always bellived and gave him the strength to fight forr a body also given by the Universe. May he rest in peace and my full respect for Therra who teach us all, in so many ways, what Love means. Thank you. Just an admirer - Diana Thedim from Arte Jondo. Madrid.
