John "Johnny" Eff Miller, III Obituary

John "Johnny" Eff Miller, III, passed away at his home in Covington, Louisiana, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the age of 35.

Johnny was born on November 25, 1989, in Jackson, Mississippi, to John "Jim" Eff Miller, Jr. and Brenna (Boyd) Miller. He attended Northwest Rankin of Rankin County School District from kindergarten through 11th grade and graduated from the Education Center in Jackson in 2008. He went on to study at the University of Southern Mississippi then earned his HVAC Accreditation from Hinds Community College. Johnny worked as an HVAC Inspector in Covington and also operated a successful online sales business. Before moving to Louisiana, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson.

Johnny was a kind soul with a natural smile. He had a sharp mind and was often the smartest person in the room. He cherished time with loved ones and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Brenna (Boyd) Miller (Tina Housdan); brother, Camden Miller; sister, Wesley Brooker (Brandon); maternal grandparents, JC and Barbara Taylor; aunts, Rebecca Luther (Regis) and Tami Dendy (Gary); cousins, Miller Dendy (Karmen), Noal Dendy (Ranya), Emmitt Dendy (Rebeca), Tabor Luther (Ana), Brendan Luther (Bri), Nicole Housdan, and Jessica Housdan; nephews, Josiah Jones and Jack Brooker; his beloved girlfriend Louwena Morales; and numerous friends. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, John "Jim" Eff Miller, Jr.; paternal grandparents, John and Cora Jeanne Miller; and maternal grandfather, William "Bill" Boyd.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Fannin United Methodist Church. Interment of ashes will follow at the church cemetery across the street in a private family ceremony due to space limitations.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Mississippi Chapter (www. https://afsp.org/chapter/mississippi), in Johnny's honor. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

I remember in 4th grade when he told me his full legal name and that his middle name was spelled Eff. And in high school when he got a very high score on this test we had to take.

I knew Johnny from a few classes at NWR and band, even though I was a member of the band only for a few years. Nevertheless, I recall his spirit to be a kind one with a gentle smile always. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

I remember Johnny and John. At NWR, I knew him as Johnny. At Hinds I knew him as John. Strangely we both wound up at HVAC school together. I can attest John was always one of the most intelligent in the room. He was always helping other students and hungry for knowledge. I always think of him in high regards

Johnny and I were in band together. He was always the sweetest person - not a mean bone in his body. Since he played trombone and I played percussion, there was always a joke about me crashing symbols right behind where the trombones were. He had a wonderful smile and it will be missed.
