John "Buddy" Jones

JONES Mr. John "Buddy" Jones, 60, of Moss Point, MS was born January 22, 1950. He departed this life on March 28, 2010 at Singing River Hospital. He retired from the Veteran Affairs Medical Center Biloxi. He was an active life member of VFW Post #10024, a proud graduate of Magnolia High School and a lifelong resident of Moss Point, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Lee Jones; two brothers, Willie J. Jones and M.J. Crear, and his uncle and best friend, Levi Lett. To cherish his memories he leaves his mother, Ethel Smith, Moss Point, MS; father-in-law, Albert (Dorothy Jean) DeFlanders, Moss Point, MS; wife, Shelia D. Jones, Moss Point, MS; daughter Dikila (Derek) Vinson, Fort Belvoir, VA; two stepson, Daryl DeFlanders, Stockbridge, GA and Justin DeFlanders, Moss Point, MS, stepdaughter Deanna DeFlanders, Moss Point, MS; eleven sisters, Diana Johnson, Oakland, CA; Ethel Annette (Calvin), Jackson, Kearney, MO; Marvella Jones, LaPorte, TX; Rev. Rosa (Charles) Dorsey, Merdian, MS; Sarah Evans, Joyce Welch, Flora (Tale) Hill, Gladys Addison, Rita (Bobby) Wright, Janice Hudson, Cheryl Jones, Moss Point, MS; four brothers, Keith Smith, Lithonia, GA; Tommy Jones, Washington, DC; Larry Webb, James Webb, Daryl Jones, Michael Jones, Moss Point, MS; four grandchildren, Zykia, Zaria, Zoey, and Prince; host of nieces and nephews and other relatives; devoted friends, Clarence Dubose and Charles Miller of Moss Point, MS. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am, Friday, April 2, 2010 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 5425 Grierson St, Moss Point, MS. Viewing will be for one hour prior to the service.
