Here is something that I posted when I heard the sad news...
Sending love to those in Rhode Island who knew John Joyce. John was a tireless advocate for those experiencing homelessness. The impact of his work reached far beyond Rhode Island and I am honored to say that I knew him. I learned so much from John during my days of doing outreach in Providence and was lucky enough to watch him fight the good fight each and every day. It was remarkable to witness his passion and to watch as he grew and changed and overcame his own homelessness. I remember helping john move into the first apt he had in a long time; he put his bags down and two minutes later he was back out on the street talking to others about coming in. RIP brother, you will be missed!
