KASHLAK JOHN V.
81, of West Mifflin, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at home. Born in Curtisville, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Luchkanych) Kashlak. He retired as chief of plant security from General Motors Fisher Body; served as Chaplain for the Masons at the Duquesne- McKeesport Lodge for 28 years and also the past master; a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Duquesne; treasurer of the GM Retirement Club; a 1944 Duquesne High School graduate, he led the basketball team that year to the state championship; he was a 1948 graduate of the State University of Iowa and honorably served on active duty in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years Kiki (Lada) Kashlak; daughters Katherine (David) Rinkacs of Orlando, FL, and Lisa (Richard) Anderson of Hopewell; granddaughter Avalina Anderson and a sister Frances Kashlak of Duquesne. Friends received TEICHART- GRACAN FUNERAL HOME Thurs. 2-4 and 6-9. A parastas service will be held Thurs. 7:30 pm in the funeral home. Additional visitation will be Fri. from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, at which time a funeral liturgy will be held with the Very Rev. David Lesko. Interment following St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church.

I was just made aware of John's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies. John & I graduated together from Duquesne & I also have fond memories of our times at the Lodge & Duquesne Golf Club. He will be missed.
