John Key Obituary

John Andrew Key, 88, of Bedford, went to meet his savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, May 14, 2012, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on June 18, 1923. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Dye "Judy" Key; a daughter, Pamela Rose Key Undercoffer; and an infant son, John Anston Key; a granddaughter, Brenda Gale Karnes.
He is survived by his daughter, Penny Key Wilson and husband, Russell; a son, Douglas M. Karnes and wife, Martha; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers and six sisters; and a special neighbor, Jean Hawkins.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association or the Bedford Humane Society.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Burch-Messier Funeral Home, (Main Street Location) 317 W. Main Street, Bedford, 540-586-7360.
