John C. Koerber Jr.

Sparta, NJ- John Christopher Koerber, Jr., went home to the Lord at his residence on Sunday, September 18, 2016 with his loving wife Gloria and his family by his side. He was 86. John was born in Manhattan, NY to John C. Sr. and Irene (Mahady) Koerber. He has resided in Sparta, NJ for the past 16 years, formerly of No. Bergen, NJ. He served his country proudly in the US Army. John was employed for 35 years as a longshoreman with Global Container Corporation of NY, NY retiring in 1988. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in NYC, NY, and a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake in Sparta, NJ. John was considered by his family as a real family man, who loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He is predeceased by a sister: Dolores McAndrews. Surviving him is his loving spouse of 61 years, Mary Gloria Koerber of Sparta. His loving daughters: Valerie (Harvey) Egan of Sparta, and Kelly (Doug) Neeb of Denville, NJ, and his Granddaughter Brianna Neeb. Cherished sister: Irene Simon, and Brother: Patrick Koerber. Family and friends are invited Wednesday 2~4 7~9 pm to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 10 am followed by entombment in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum, Fairview, NJ.
