John F. Kulak, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at a care facility.
John was born on February 2, 1940, in St. Joseph to Andrew Jacob and Harriett Mary (Kessler) Kulak. John attended Christian Brothers High School and graduated from Central High School as part of the Class of 1958. After graduation, he attended the St. Joseph Community College and the Platt Business School. After school, he worked at the Brooks Oil Company as a bookkeeper.
John married Shirley Smail in October of 1963; they celebrated 54 years of married life.
John was also a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #571, and he was a parent volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving family include wife Shirley Kulak; sons John R. Kulak and Patrick A. (Patricia) Kulak and daughter, Angela L. (Kevin) Caw, all of St. Joseph; grandsons, Jacob and Matthew Kulak and Ethan Caw.
