Pat and Joel, I had the privilege of meeting John when he came to Carrollton, Texas as an Assessor for CALEA. I later met him at other CALEA functions around the country and always found him to be a warm, friendly and courteous man. Texas is known as being the friendly state and John would have represented Texas well if he lived here.
He helped improve the police profession internationally and for that we will always be thankful. Well done thy good and faithful servant. God bless you and your family.

Dear Pat & Joel,
We were shocked and dismayed to learn that John passed away suddenly on September 26th. Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to both of you and the members of your extended family. As you know, our relationship with you and John go back to the time when we were all growing up in the High Prairie, MacLennan, and Falher communities and we became lifelong friends. We have very fond memories of John and we enjoyed meeting you both recently after too many long years of not being able to make connections. John enjoyed an overly short but fulfilling retirement. He will be sorely missed by his family and his multitude of friends. John's enduring legacy reminds us all that he was a truly special person who changed the world for the better.
Warmest regards,
Linda and Michael

John (T-Jean as I always called him) and I grew up across the street from each other in Falher Alberta. My earliest memories are of John and Gill and his mother who I always called Aunt Noella. My mother Elizabeth was very fond of John and all the LaFlammes were always considered good friends. We send our deepest sympathy to Pat, Joel, Gill and the whole family. To us John was a GOOD GUY, who made the world a better place for many, many people.

Pat and Joel: We were stunned and deeply saddened by John's sudden passing. It was great to reconnect and work with John again at the MSO office in the past year. We joked and laughed like we did when we were Detectives in the Fraud and Commercial Crime Section at EPS in the 1980's. Those were great times and it was fun to relive old times together. John was a loyal friend and I will be forever grateful for his help and support when I called on him when I needed assistance. Pat and Joel, we hope it is comforting to you that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Dear Pat and Joel,
Condolences are sent to you and your family members upon John's passing from the Council and Administration of the City of Lethbridge.
During John's term as Chief of Police in our community, I found him to be an excellent communicator and a strong supporter of community policing. He was especially good at building relationships within the community. I always appreciated that he took great effort to keep me fully apprised of police matters as they occurred in our community.
May you find comfort in all your good memories.

Hi Patricia and Joel,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember meeting John for the first time at the Londonderry Police station. A jovial chap who had a good sense of humour and great consultant. John always shared his time and provided guidance to all. He will be deeply missed. Mom and I send out our prayers to you and Joel and his remaining family. God has taken his son home to be with his mom.
