LEWIS, John (Jack)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our great-grandfather, grandfather, father, father-in-law, brother-in- law, uncle, husband and friend, Jack who died with dignity and grace on December 22, 2011 after his battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Juliette (Jolivette) Lewis; his children Diane (Randy) Ritchie of Calgary, Ken Lewis of Edmonton, Marlene Lewis of Westlock, Linda Mitchell of Westlock, Shirley (Ron) Lewis-Schmaltz of Westlock, Wayne (Zoya) Lewis of Atlin, Gloria (John) Tymko of Jarvie and Phillip (Diane) Lewis of Prince George; his grandchildren Mary-Jean and Evan Ritchie, Gregory and Claire Lewis, Lee Plumb, Jennifer and Clayton and Cameron (Jen) Mitchell, Carley and Quentin and Trevor Schmaltz, Julie Lewis, Christopher (Rena) and John (Tanya) Lewis, Debbie (Jim) Caine, Michael (Angie) Tymko and Brenda (Grant) McDonald; his great-grandchildren Billie, Autumn, Jade, Julie, Juliet, Bridget, Jill, Pearce, Katy, Jackson, Alison, Brian, Bradley and Joshua. Jack was predeceased by two little grandchildren angels, Steven and Brent.
Jack was born on April 29, 1923 in Evansburg, Alberta and settled in Westlock with his wife of 69 years, Juliette, to raise their treasured family. Jack worked for the Town of Westlock for 38 years and when he retired, he and Juliette had many relaxing years trailering. No matter where their lives took them, Dad and Mom always made family their center.
The family wishes to thank the Westlock Hospital for their care of our Dad during his brief stay in their care and a special thank you goes out to the Westlock Foundation (Smithfield) for the care and support for Dad during the time he and Mom made Smithfield their home.
Friends and family are invited to attend Prayers on Monday, December 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Westlock Funeral Home, and a Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Westlock, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alberta Lung Association c/o 10004 105 Street Westlock, Alberta T7P 1V2
