You were so talented, my friend. We lost touch with busy lives after graduating Baylor. I'm so sorry... I know how much you loved your family and your music. I will remember the songs you sang so beautifully. -- Clare Miers

John and I were friends at Baylor. It was very comforting to re-connect via the phone this past Summer. If, you were a friend to John. He kept you close to his heart next to his family. I know that he is at peace in heaven making music and providing humor. He will be missed. Carter Copeland-San Antonio,Texas

JBass!! Over a week has gone by since I heard of your passing and I am STILL in stunned silence, if not denial, that you have left this world. Unless, I end up with some crazy musical opportunity in the future, you will FOREVER remain the better half of the best rhythm section I have ever had the pleasure and privilege to be a part of! Over the 10+ years we knew each other, it didn't matter if we had gone one week, one month, or one year (or MORE) without jamming together and each and every time we did, we locked in like we were Siamese twins.
RIP brother and I will join you someday for more of those random but precisely in-synch brain-wave chorus-to-verse turnarounds we pulled off!
I hope you enjoy the song we will be playing for you at your service tomorrow...

John, I was so sorry to hear you had passed. Although we worked together only a short amount of time I really enjoyed working with you. You ALWAYS made me laugh. When my dad passed you went out of your way to let me know you were there for me if I needed anything. You also graciously sat & listened to me practice my memorial speech for my dad's service. You were a good man and those closest to you should feel especially proud that you left a piece of yourself in their hearts forever. I pray your children will feel blessed as they go through life and recognize the positive values & traits you instilled in them. I hope when they do something that reminds them of you (maybe a mannerism or say word or phrase) that they will stop & smile and know you are still with them.
