John Maney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 8, 2010.
John Milton Maney of Seal Beach, California passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Cedars Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, California after a brave battle with leukemia. He was 68 years of age.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted companion of 32 years Minh Tam Do of Seal Beach, California and her children and grandchildren, who he loved as his own; Maurice Nguyen of Fountain Valley, California, Paula Nguyen of West Hills, California, Germaine Nguyen of Woodland Hills, California, Nia Nguyen of Beverly Hills, California and her grandchildren; Natasha Vo, Chantal Vo and Preston Brown.
John was born May 12, 1942 in Pitcher, Oklahoma to Finus and Betty Maney. Throughout his life, this quiet, kind and gentle man spent his time between Oklahoma and Southern California. After graduating from Bell Gardens High School in Bell Gardens, California, John proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1964. John had a productive career with General Motors assisting in the production of thousands of vehicles during his 18 years at the Van Nuys, California manufacturing plant.
Upon retiring from General Motors, John spent time on his constructive and creative hobbies. A natural mechanic and handy man, John could fix anything with a motor. He also loved building his home on his Oklahoma ranch. Happily, John never had a shortage of projects while maintaining his home and ranch. He truly loved living in the countryside surrounded by nature in the home he created.
But most of all, John loved spending time with Tam, her children and grandchildren. He was always there to patiently give more than a helping hand without expecting anything in return. John Maney will always be loved, missed and will never be forgotten.

John

It seems like only yesterday we were growing up together in jr. high and high school. You were my best friend then and will remain my best friend in my heart forever. I feel so sorry I did not take the time to come visit you in Oklahoma. I will never forget our memories.

John, I knew you for a very short time over the past year, but felt I knew you all my life. I enjoyed your fun, loving nature and the fact that you were always smiling despite the pain you were suffering. I saw the effect you had on others and so admired your ways. My friend, you will be missed, but your spirit and memories of you will always be with us.

I am Laurie Bullard's sister. I knew John because he was the friend of Joe. John was very welcome at our family get-to-gethers, mostly because he was always smiling. We will miss John here in Oklahoma. Sorry he has gone. Brenda Lininger

Dear John,
how can I express how much you will be missed. I thank you god for bless me to have you in my life. You have taught me about unconditional love,to have a great sense of humors toward life no matter how difficult life might be at time, and have strength to never give up what I believe in.
For those reason alone, I have become a better person that I'm today. I also want to thank you for loving my mom and take such good care of her for the last 30th years.
I will never forget your smile and funny jokes, making me laugh all the time. I will always love you, and will never forget you, thank you for being like a father to me. I'm so glad that for the past 5 months I had a chance to share some beautiful moments with you and my mom. May you rest in peace, and god bless you soul.

Johnny,
How do I put into words how much you mean to me? You will never be replaced nor forgotten. You are so dear to me and I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. You are free as a bird now - spread your wings and fly high and mighty. I love you more than words can say, and more than expressions can show. You were my first best friend and will always hold a place in my heart and soul.
