John Massey Obituary
After high school, he received education in air conditioning and refrigeration at Southeast Community College on the Milford Campus in Nebraska.
John married the love of his life, Necia L. (Bonnette) Massey, on April 22, 1978.
John was predeceased by his mother and father.
John was first employed at Amana Refrigeration in Iowa for 25 years. Later John and Necia owned Sweatertown in Mendon, and Good Heavens Distributing. Following that, he worked for TSA as a supervisor in Burlington and Rutland, Vermont.
He was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Rutland.
Survivors include his cherished wife Necia; three loving daughters Sara and (Jacob) Webb, Jillian and (Jeremy) Moseley and Kaitlynn Massey, his dear grandson Grant Moseley, all of Denver, Colorado; his sister-in-law Nancy (Bonnette) McDonough and brother-in-law Norman Bonnette. He also leaves two beloved nieces Gail Randell and Julie Richtsmeier, and his uncle Walt Massey in Kansas.
John was a devoted, loving husband and father, and a true gentleman, who listened and cared for his family and friends. John and Necia enjoyed traveling both to visit family and to have new experiences together. Most important to John were his many family members and his strong Christian faith. Not only did John know how to fix things around the house, but with his words of wisdom, love and life, he encouraged all those who were privileged to come in contact with him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 2 Meadow Lane and Grove Street in Rutland, Vermont, with a reception to follow.
Friends may call at Clifford Funeral Home on Washington Street in Rutland on Friday, July 26, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth Hospital, in Hanover, NH.

Hi Necia, Tom & I are heartbroken and just want you to know there is a lot of love coming from Iowa. The Sunday after John's passing the organist played Morning has Broken and Tom's dad let folks know that was the one hymn John could play on the piano. Just letting you know we are still here for you and so is He!!!

You and John were so helpful to me when I first moved to Cedar Rapids for the job at Amana. I was without my own wife and family and John invited me to yours for dinner and some companionship. John and I went to school together in Humboldt. It's a small town, so you get to know people pretty well. I remember him as a tall, quiet young man with a good sense of humor who loved basketball. I am sorry to hear that he is gone.

To the Massey family, I worked with John at BTV for quite some time and really enjoyed working with him. I moved to VA as a Supervisor for TSA and recently retired.
