Dear Gerry,
We are very sorry to hear about Buds passing, which we were not aware of until today when I asked how he was doing at the Lasalle '51 luncheon.
I was a classmate of Buds at Lasalle and PC and we were in the army together.
The last time I saw you both was at the 50th PC reunion.
Bud was a very upbeat guy and we will all miss him.

Bud and I were close friends since the first grade. We had so many wonderful times together as kids ggrowing up and in later married lives with Gerry and Mary. Bud was thoughtful, honest, dedicated, kind friend always fun to be with. I never imagined the day Bud was not a part of my life and Mary's life. So many stories to tell about Bud. I just wish I had a chance to say goodbye and thank him for being a wonderful friend. He will be greatly missed forever. Life will never be the same without Bud for Mary and I. Words can never explain our friendship and lives together. God bless you Bud you were the best. It broke our hearts to see yoiu suffer so much. We will always love you. Thanks for the great memories.

Dear Aunt Gerry, Jack, Mimi, Bill, Jane, Pat, Lara, and grandkids;
We are so saddened by the loss of Uncle Bud; he was such a great uncle to all of us. It was always clear how much he truly enjoyed the family gatherings. Our memories of him will be leading the singing and games with a huge smile on his face. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone, or lose his patience with anyone. I'll always remember him teaching Mary Kay and me to play "Darling Clementine" on the ukelele when we came to stay at your house in CT. And who could forget the fateful hiking trip you took with the boys up the Sleeping Giant when they came out on the opposite side from you! He will be missed! Love to all of you, Nancy, Kenny, Nathan, Brendan, and Jack

Gerry and family,

We are sorry for the loss of a great man. He will be greatly missed by my side as he sang along while I was playing the accordion. He was always the first to join in and the last to leave. His conversations, his smile, and his energy will always be remembered by his friends, family, and all of us.

God Bless,

Dear Aunt Gerry, Jack, Mimi, Bill, Jane, Pat and Lara,
We were so sorry to hear about Uncle Bud's passing. What can you say.. he was the best. Here are some things I'll always remember about Uncle Bud:
-playing the ukelele and directing the sing-alongs at all the family gatherings. I even have a picture with him playing the ukelele at Brian's Christening..
-harmonizing with my father (I love you truly, truly dear)
-getting me my first part time job after school at Grants!
-sleeping over at the house in Connecticut and getting sick. It was the first time I had Pepto Bismol and I always think of him when I have need of the pink stuff!
-the 4th of July parties! He was the quintessential host and master of ceremonies giving us all a lifetime of great memories!

He always had a smile and a kind word and I'm sure he's up there now directing Beth and the choir of angels in a St. Patrick's day sing-along, accompanying them on the ukelele!

Uncle Bud, your Irish eyes were always smiling and we'll miss you - Thanks for the Memories!

Love and our deepest sympathy,
Sue and Dale

DEAR GERRY AND FAMILY:

I WAS DEEPLY SADDENED TO LEARN OF BUD'S PASSING. THOUGH WE DIDN'T SEE EACH OTHER OFTEN ENOUGH OVER THE YEARS, OUR TIES GO BACK MORE THAN A HALF-CENTURY TO OUR DAYS AS CLASSMATES AT LASALLE AND PROVIDENCE COLLEGE.

IN ALL THESE YEARS, I DON'T THINK I'VE MET ANYONE FINER. NOT ONLY WAS HE A GOOD HUSBAND AND FATHER, BUT I'VE ALSO KNOWN HIM TO BE A CONSUMMATE GENTLEMEN AND VERY LOYAL AND SUPPORTIVE OF HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

HE WAS VERY GENEROUS AND HELPFUL TO BOTH LASALLE AND PROVIDENCE COLLEGE AND BOTH SCHOOLS WILL CERTAINLY MISS HIM AS WILL HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE WAS DEEPLY ADMIRED AND RESPECTED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM AND I AM PROUD TO CALL HIM MY CLASSMATE.

THOUGH THERE IS VERY LITTLE THAT CAN BE SAID OR DONE TO EASE THE GRIEF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FEEL AT THIS TIME, I TRUST YOU WILL FIND SOME CONSOLATION IN KNOWING THAT HE WAS HIGHLY RESPECTED BY MANY AND WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED IN THE PRAYERS OF THOSE WHO WERE FORTUNATE TO KNOW HIM.

SINCERELY,

BILL AND REGGIE NERO AND FAMILY

Dear Aunt Gerry, Jack, Bill, and Patrick,

I'm sadden by the loss of Uncle Buddy and wish you peace at this difficult time. One of my earliest memories is listening to Uncle Buddy play the ukelele and sing "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" and "The Old Oaken Bucket" (I was never sure if that was the true name of the song) at a 4th of July party in your backyard. What a wonderful memory he has provided me with! I will cherish it.
