John McEnary

McEnary John McEnary, 50, passed away July 13, 2003 at his residence in Irving, CA., from Cancer. He was born Dec. 7, 1952 in Minneapolis, to David and Marilynn McEnary. He graduated from Mpls. Washburn High School and received his Masters Degree in Music from the Univ. of Minnesota, and did additional graduate work at the Univ. of California at San Diego, before moving to California, where he joined the faculty of Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa in 1978, and became an Associate Professor of Music. He taught classes for "Computers in Music", "History of Rock Music". and conducted the College's Guitar Ensemble for 20 years. He also wrote software programs on music and music education. He was the recipient of a Regents Fellowship from UC San Diego. He is survived by his parents, David and Marilynn McEnary, of Duluth, MN; a sister, Martha Troolin and her husband Ted and children, Bill and Elizabeth, all of Duluth, MN; one uncle; and six cousins. A Memorial Service will be held in California. A "John McEnary Scholarship Fund" has been established through OCC's Foundation.
