John D. McNeil

McNeil, John D. Age 84, of Eagan, MN, ended his struggle with Alzheimer's on June 1, 2013. He was surrounded by family when he went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Preceded in death by parents Duncan and Ruby and sister-in-law Patti. Survived by wife, Lois; brother Bill, sister Dorothy Larson (Bob), sister Marianne Henrikson (Dave), sons David (Ann), Jim (Mary), Tim (Nancy), and Mark (Michele); 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. John was born in Minneapolis and graduated from Central High School. He worked for Cargill for 9 years, Standard Oil as a programmer for 4 years, and General Mills as a programmer for 15 years. He left General Mills in 1975 after feeling called by God to serve Him full-time teaching and preaching from God's Word. He spent his life doing what the name of the corporation he founded says, "Serving & Waiting." He authored a publication called "On Eagles Wings" ministering to seniors. He performed numerous weddings and funerals as well as preaching God's word to many people. He eagerly shared the gospel with others and handed out one of his tracts like, "Have a Good Day!" He was gathered to the name of the Lord with other saints at Bible Truth Hall, 3901 Grand Ave. S, Minneapolis. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 7th at 1pm with visitation beginning at 12pm at Berean Baptist Church, 309 Country Road 42 East Burnsville, MN 55306.
