John Merrill Obituary
He was born August 2,1951 in Bangor, the son of David G. Merrill and Mary Lou (Blake) Merrill Endicott. John attended school in Oakfield, at Lee Academy, and graduated from Brewer High School. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. In 1970 John married Rosa (Bassi) Merrill Goodrich. They have a son, James G. Merrill.
John worked for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad and its successors until he retired in 2011. He enjoyed his dogs and living a quiet life in Dixmont.
John is survived by his son James of Holden, his father David Merrill and his wife Nancy of Falmouth, his mother Mary Lou Endicott of Gorham, his brother Peter Merrill and his wife Joanne of Saco, his sister Catherine Liberty and her husband Peter of Saranac Lake, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews, an aunt and uncle and several cousins who will miss him. John is per deceased by his brother Thomas Merrill.
A day of remembrance will be held at the convenience of the family.

2012 was a really rough year. We lost my son, Morgan in Jan, Chris in Nov. and John Merrill in Dec. My boys have let me know they are watching over me which has been very comforting. John has watched over his family as well, I'm sure. We'll meet again. Of that I'm very sure. God bless.

To John's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I will always remember John from the Oakfield Grammar School, and from our one year at Lee. He was a true friend and caring person. His passing will leave a void that cannot be filled.
