AGE: 86 • Lakewood

John E. Miller, 86, of Lakewood, passed away, Friday, March 3, 2017.

Born in Belleville to the late Theodore and Margaret Miller, he was raised there and graduated from Belleville High School. He later lived in Brick and for the past four years in Lakewood.

John was a retired auto mechanic and had owned Pete's American Amoco, Rutherford. He enjoyed fishing and trips to Atlantic City.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Hopper Miller; sisters, Doris and Margaret; and brother, Teddy.

Surviving are his son, John Miller and his wife Patricia; and daughter, Susan McIndoe and her husband David, all of Toms River. Also surviving are his brother, Robert Miller; three sisters, Jane Waters, Alice Schneider, and Eleanor Oche; five grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, John, Jennifer, and Julie; two great-grandchildren, Emmerson, and Ren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m., Sunday, March 12th at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road, where at 3:30 p.m. a service will be held.
