John Mohrbeck Obituary

John Mohrbeck, 80, died Sept. 24, 2011, at Treasure Coast Hospice, Fort Pierce. He was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Florida, coming from Atlantic Highlands, N.J., since 1969. He was a former resident of Juno Beach before moving to Port St. Lucie. He was a hard hat diver, nuclear certified pipe fitter and an entrepreneur in several different business ventures in New Jersey and Florida. He was a Disabled American Veterans member, serving in the Navy during World War II. He was a long-serving member of the GMC Sunshine Statesman Club and an active member of the Savanna Club Worship Center in Port St. Lucie. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marlene G. Mohrbeck of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Donna Doyle of Palm Beach Gardens and Laura Shaw of Jupiter; son, John Mohrbeck III of Jupiter; and six grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981. Services: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 30 at Yates Funeral Home & Crematory, Port St. Lucie, with the Rev. Glen Clifton officiating.
