Suddenly on December 9, 2009, Jack, 69, of Penn Hills. Beloved husband of the late Carol E. (Landman) Monroe; dear father of John and Patty, Jeff and Candice, Joseph and Amy Monroe, Peggy and Gary Ingelido; brother of Jean, Lois, Eileen, James, Thomas, Madelyn, Edward, and the late Robert; grandfather of Brandon, Michael, Kirstie, Rachel, Jacob, Tiffany, Mason and Logan. Jack was a proud member of The Sheriff's Reserves, and friend to many. Friends and relatives will be received at BURKET - TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, Saturday 7-9, Sunday 2-4, 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10AM St. Raphael Catholic Church, Morningside.

We were so saddened to hear about Jack.

I just saw Peggy and you a couple of months ago. Your wife and you always treated me with kindness. You always reached out to say hello and to see how things were going. Our prayers go out to all of the Monroe family.Jack was a great cook. His great food, generosity and self sacrificing of his time while cooking for 100's for many years will not be forgotten. No one could make a real Chicken Salad like Jack. We have missed you. God bless you.
