Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 5, 2024.
John "Johnny" Morone, 65, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed into eternal rest on July 14, 2022. Born on February 3, 1957.

Johnny was a man of robust spirit and charisma. As a dedicated trucker and avid biker, he was often found at the heart of every gathering, his presence felt far and wide. His career path led him from Pinto Disposal in Morris County to becoming an independent driver, a testament to his independent nature and zest for life. His passion for the open road was most evident through his love for his Harley Davidson, which was more than a hobby-it was a symbol of his freedom and adventurous spirit.

Johnny's formative years were spent at Blessed Sacrament School in Elizabeth N.J. and Madison High School in Madison, N.J., where he laid the foundations of a life rich in friendships and cherished experiences.

He is survived by his devoted life's partner, Pam Wefers, their beloved children, his elder brother Mike Morone ,a lifelong and retired trucker of Oakland, Pa, and his younger brother Steve of Water Gap, Pa. Johnny was preceded in death by his brothers Philip and Edward, whose memories continue to be honored by those who loved them.

A memorial service to commemorate Johnny's life was held at Gorney & Gorney Funeral Home in Elizabeth, providing a solemn space for loved ones to reflect on his life and legacy.

The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude's in remembrance of Johnny, contributing to a cause that resonates with the generosity he embodied.

The Gorney and Gorney Funeral Home in Elizabeth, N.J., had the honor of overseeing the arrangements, ensuring that Johnny's memory is preserved with the dignity and respect befitting a man of his stature in the community.
