John F. Mullan, Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from Parkinson's. He had been a resident of a Rockville Nursing Home. He had formerly lived in Northern Virginia and Raleigh, NC.

He was predeceased by his parents, John F. Mullan and Eileen Deneny Mullan; and brothers James and Edmund. He is survived by sisters Eileen Menapace and Patricia Mullan Doty (Charles); and brother, Philip (Janet); nephews David (MaryFrances), Paul (Lindsay), Gregory (Mary), and James Menapace (Therese); nieces Marlene Murphy (Frank), Suzanne Shorts (Timothy), and Barbara LaPilusa (John), and many cousins, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1934, he graduated from St. Augustine's High and attended Brooklyn College and New York University before serving in the US Army.

He worked many years as a communication service technician and web master for MCI, Satellite Business and Verizon.

He had a wide array of interests, including electric railroading and antique trollies, canoeing, herbal medicine and dancing. John loved to dance and had at one time been an instructor at Arthur Murray Studios. He particularly enjoyed the New Year's Eve Viennese Ball at the Kennedy Center. He was a long time member of the of the Trinity Church Adult Singles Group in Georgetown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 4, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockville, MD. Interment will be private.
